Mindfulness in Marlow
Do you live in or around Marlow and want to invite more mindfulness to your life?
’m Anney and have recently moved to Marlow from Richmond. I wanted to use this space to introduce myself and my offerings of yoga and mindfulness in Marlow.
I am a yoga and mindfulness teacher and my aim is to make yoga accessible to everyone who wants to improve their all round quality of life and the ability to remain calm and present.
For me, yoga is a way to play and be curious, a way to connect with ourselves, a personal and inward journey with the absence of judgement, ego or competition but instead filled with compassion for and acceptance of yourself and others.
A bit about Me and my Mindfulness Journey
I initially trained in Rishikesh, India nestled between the Ganges and the foothills of the Himalayas. As so much of the philosophy of yoga is intwined with the Indian culture, I knew it would be a real and authentic opportunity to learn traditional Hatha yoga.
I returned to the UK and began teaching privately, corporate groups, and in a few studios around South-west London. I wanted to continue my own learning journey and so returned to India, to become 500-hour Yoga Alliance trained in Ashtanga, Hatha, meditation and pranayama.
During my time in India, I became very aware of the importance of energy, gratitude and presence and on returning home I undertook a level-2 Reiki healing course to be able to channel the universal healing powers available to us. My following training was in Yin yoga. It was an intensely introspective journey and we delved deeply into the healing powers of Yin yoga and the amazing benefits it can bring to every body, mind and soul.
Continuing my training I qualified to teach yoga and mindfulness to children and young people. I then went on the complete my Mindfulness coaching course which enables me to teach tools that increase awareness of the present moment without judgment. Tools which develop the mind-body connection, the importance of living and moving mindfully and how this in turn develops our quality of life, our relationship with ourselves and others and our ability to live through compassion and acceptance.
